We booked our couple photography session just a few days away from our scheduled flight to Tokyo and he immediately accommodated us and gave us his available schedule. Payment was also seamless. We had no particular location in mind, and he suggested a location that was breathtaking and so appropriate for the theme we were going for. During the shoot itself, we were late for around 20-30 mins but he was kind enough to wait for us. He even took photos of our families as they were also with us during the shoot. "I spontaneously decided to book a one-hour session with Kilakila, and across 6 months of being in Tokyo, it was one of the most fun experiences I've had so far! Despite the short notice, he was exceptionally accommodating, responding quickly to any questions I had and even allowing me to push my session back an hour when I was running late.
As many of his previous clients have expressed, Kilakila is fluent in both English and Japanese and knows the areas he shoots in exceptionally well. We had to go grab a lighter for a specific shot I wanted and were in and out of the convenience store in under 5 minutes! If you're self-conscious about posing in public or are particular about not having other people in your shots, he knows plenty of private and low-key spots in addition to the classic, iconic Tokyo scenery.
As for the final product - the photos themselves - Kilakila's personal editing and photography style is prevalent in all of the shots you get. They're not only crisp and make great use of natural lighting as one might expect any professional photography to be, but exude a sense of warmth and joy that I find is unique to his work. I recommend looking at the photos he posts on his Instagram and his website before booking to get a sense of the photos you are going to get! We took over 1000 shots during our one-hour session and despite having to cull those down to 80 or so final deliverables, he finished faster than his promised turnaround time of 2-3 days.
I would once again, however, like to emphasize the utmost quality of the experience itself. I had a vision for my photoshoot, but some of my favorite final shots were completely off-the-cuff. Kilakila is full of recommendations, but he also encourages your creativity and makes you comfortable enough to suggest and execute those ideas throughout the shoot.
Whether you have a specific vision for your photoshoot or are simply looking to capture some cool "Tokyo vibes," I highly recommend choosing Kilakila as your photographer.

"Our family photoshoot with Kilakila was fun, relaxed, and the perfect way to memorialize our first trip to Tokyo. Kilakila himself was very friendly and easy going. He was responsive whether communicating via DM or email. Our daughter got sick the day before our shoot and we were lucky that he was flexible and able to reschedule us to another day before the end of our trip. We opted for a nature-y photo shoot in Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden and he knew all the scenic spots. He helped us stay comfortable and natural and guided us with poses. Kilakila threw in some street shots at the end of our photoshoot, which is also his specialty. We received all the edited pictures within a few days of our shoot and are very happy with them.
